While I’m proud of the traffic I receive to www.Jalem.com – I must admit its pretty low (think 20 or less visitors per day). I mention this because the following observation is based on my website, and the conclusion I’ve drawn is from a statistically underwhelming amount of traffic. None the less, I find it a curious insight into human behavior that the third most visited page on my website is the “TOP SECRET” tab. Not my CONTACT page, not the fancy article about my cars, not even one of the posts on my home page… Forget it, people want to know what “TOP SECRET” is all about! Well – I have to say, sadly, it’s simply a page where I keep some links and an area I use to administer this website. Sorry, no Jimmy Hoffa, or Funtwo secrets to reveal…

As I’ve l looked out on the horizon for the ‘next big thing’ until now I made the asumption it will be some sort of high-tech iPad-Facebook-Twitter device. This WIRED article made me pause long enough to think there may be an opportunity to make money applying old (and therefore reliable and cost effective) technology to solve simple problems. Next time you’re in the airport searching for an outlet to charge your phone, or laptop ask yourself if you could be the next MacGyver?

Thought I’d test out the WordPress iPhone app and see how easy it is to manage my blog from my cell phone. Simple things like approving comments are a snap and easy to do. Others, like writing this post are a bit cumbersome and are probably bestter saved for a PC. Though the geo tag feature is cool.

Adding photos seems pretty easy too, note the photo from yesterday’s Cubs game.

At nearly 80 years old it amazes me that William Shatner has lasted as long as he has. There are better actors, singers and smarter people in Hollywood who have long since faded away. Why is it people like this (Think Clint Eastwood) are able to last beyond their more talented, harder working smarter peers? The answer is I have no idea…

Today there was an open house at my lovely home in Waukesha. If you didn’t get a chance to make it out you should check out the MLS listing here: or read the details below.

Built by King’s Way, this beautiful home was designed with every attention to detail and tons of extras, including arched entryways, soffited ceilings, Brazilian cherry floors, 8’ doors on the upper level, 10-12′ ceilings, brand new carpeting and paint throughout. Amazing fully-finished lower level with walk out patio, bi-level theater, wet bar, wine room and electronic lights. Over $1,080,000 invested in the home with new carpet, padding and paint throughout.

This 4-bedroom, 3.5 bath, 4,816 sq. ft home sits on approximately 1.2 acres in a cul-de-sac with a protected reserve as the backdrop. Over $90,000 was spent on the park-like landscaping – large decorative retaining walls, hand-laid brick patio and electronically controlled sprinkler system allow the homeowner to enjoy an amazing outdoor living space without spending the weekends on maintenance.

Three automatic wood garage doors allow extra room between vehicles. The spacious driveway was designed to accommodate a number of additional vehicles.

The lower level will impress with a bi-level movie theater, guest bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, indoor jacuzzi, wet bar, wine room with cold storage, and full bathroom with walk out to hand-laid brick patio. Additionally, there is approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of storage space in the unfinished area. The lower level also includes an electronically-controlled lighting system.

The master bedroomfeatures a soffited ceiling and French doors leading to the master bathroom. Two walk-in California Closets are conveniently located inside the master bath, which comes complete with his-and-hers vanities, 7-head shower, jacuzzi tub, window bench and private toilet room. The home is built around a center courtyard, which separates the master bedroom from the rest of the house for extra privacy and comfort.

Two additional bedrooms wrap around the opposite side of the central courtyard, and share a Jack and Jill bathroom. One has a large walk-in closet while the other has a California Closet.

The professional kitchen with walk-in pantry is designed for families or individuals who enjoy cooking and entertaining. Full gas range is complemented by a double convection oven, large side-by-side refrigerator and microwave – all included! Huge granite bar area is built around the kitchen so Mom (or Dad) can keep an eye on the kids while preparing meals. The unique design of the kitchen, dining room and living room are situated as a large shared space which is very conducive to bringing the family together in the evenings.

Included with the home are many family-oriented extrasincluding mudroom with built-in shoe cubbies with bench and overhead powered cubbies for cell phones, IPods and digital cameras. The home has a network/phone jack in nearly every room and includes a wireless network and electronic security system plus a powerful built in vacuum. Once you’ve vacuumed with a system like this you’ll never go back to a traditional vacuum!

This spectacular! Any growing family would be lucky to call this house their home.
