Jalem
I recently Applied to Buy Seasons for the Safety and Training Coordinator and was informed you are no longer there. I worked for Kings Way Homes for 10 years during that time you and I worked together on a potential garage project. I brought the drawings to your office were we went over them in detail.

I was sent an email today from Buy Seasons, Dev stated to look up your new company on Google. I was attempting some social networking with you to get my foot in the door.

I don't know how well that went after discovering the circumstances with your relationship with Buy Seasons. Hope I didn't ruffel and feathers. Hope all is well and some day I hope to be working for one of the companies you developed.

Kindly

Hi Jalem, best of luck to you in your new business venture. I can't wait to hear more. I'm still at BuySeasons, looking forward to retiring in a few years. I think about your mom and dad and all the kindness they showed me, let them know I say hello and wish them the best of everything. I'm not on Facebook but will follow you on your website. Take care, enjoy life and business and I look forward to following your next big success. Diane Korb

Hi Jalem, I totally agree!!! It's like there is no such thing as an original idea. Even I have fallen back on what I know in the past two years. But I suspect for me 2012 is going to brig a new adventure and I feel it in my entrepreneurial bones! I wish you a very successful year and feel free to drop me a line!

Jalem,
While conducting research for a presentation this Tuesday I came across your blog. I am a seasonal warehouse associate. I agree that “Some Halloween Companies” (To be referred to herein as SHC) are in trouble; albeit most probably for reasons other than the 8 key indicators you used for your assessment. I was stunned that at SHC the sale price of costumes is close to or over double the cost paid to the vendor. Bear in mind, I come from an industry where achieving a 13 mark up is an epic achievement.
Then I took a closer look. There is a monumental amount of waste at SHC, over half of a million dollars a year in one instance, which suggested several questions: What kind of margin are they actually achieving? How long will the market value of these costumes remain so high? Why is nobody selling these costumes for less? Etc…
You prominently placed price tags on the costumes of your graphic. Is this because there has been an overall increase in the sale price of costumes which is one of your key indicators?
I wish you the best of luck on your new venture siide.com. As a victim of the economy, I think it has tremendous potential and wish it was viable resource already.
