When I first started reading this article on how Starbuck’s is rolling our mobile payment options I got excited. After a little research I discovered (to my surprise) it’s nothing more than a link to your Starbuck’s gift card using a fancy app and a QR barcode (you all know how much I like QR barcodes). Nonetheless it is a very creative way to ease customers into micropayments, and frankly leverages an existing alt-payment system (gift cards). Something to put in the Cookie Jarr for future consideration…
